The short version
- If you join our newsletter, we keep your email address, and we use it only to tell you about new shows and episodes.
- That’s the only personal information we ask for.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, no analytics, and we never sell or share your information.
- You can remove your email from our list at any time, using the form at the end of this page.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter sign-ups. When you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you signed up from, and the date and time. We use it only to email you about new shows and episodes. It’s kept in a database run for us by Cloudflare.
Your place in an episode. Our audio player remembers where you stopped listening and a few settings, like autoplay. It saves these in your own browser’s storage, on your device. They never come to us, and you can clear them at any time in your browser’s settings.
Server logs. Like every website, ours is delivered by servers that see your IP address, your browser type and the pages and audio files you request. Our host, Cloudflare, uses this to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use it to identify you.
Fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address. Google’s own privacy policy covers that.
Podcast apps. If you follow one of our shows in a podcast app, the app downloads episodes from our audio host. The app’s own privacy policy covers anything it collects.
The contact form. The form on our Contact page isn’t connected yet. Nothing you type there is sent or stored.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We don’t show ads or work with ad networks.
- We don’t use tracking or analytics cookies, and we don’t build profiles of listeners.
Who handles data for us
Cloudflare hosts the website, the audio and the newsletter database. Google Fonts serves our fonts. We haven’t sent a newsletter yet. Before we do, we’ll name the email service we use here.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you remove it or we close the newsletter. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare under its own retention rules.
Your choices and rights
You can remove your email from our list at any time, using the form below. It’s deleted immediately.
You can also ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, for example in California, the European Union or the United Kingdom, the law gives you these rights. We honor them for everyone, wherever you live.
We’re setting up a dedicated address for privacy questions, and we’ll list it here as soon as it’s ready. Until then, you can remove your email from our list yourself, straight away, with the form at the end of this page.
Children
VoiceFrequency isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If a child has signed up for the newsletter, the form below removes the address.
Security
Your email address is stored in Cloudflare’s systems, and only we have access to it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to the minimum.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we’ll say so on the site, and, once the newsletter has started, by email.
Remove my email
Enter the address you signed up with, and we’ll delete it from our newsletter list.
