The whole country is waiting to hear whether the Cuban Missile Crisis ends in war, and WVFQ, a 250-watt station on Main Street in Cedar Ridge, Ohio, is on the air for the very last time. Walt Hollis has been the overnight man for twenty-two years. Tonight he keeps the request line open until sign-off, and the calls start coming in from other years. Six episodes, one for each hour from midnight to dawn.
